Challenge

A remodeled historic building featured a massive glass pyramid above the atrium. After the renovation was complete, the only way to access the area beneath the pyramid was through a 2-foot-square opening created by removing a ceiling tile. The building owners needed to replace lights that had originally been installed while the building was filled with scaffolding, making conventional access no longer practical.

Rope Guy Solution

The Rope Guy team accessed the confined work area by carefully entering through the 2-foot-square ceiling opening. Using specialized rope-access techniques, the team was able to reach the lights beneath the massive glass pyramid without reinstalling extensive scaffolding or disrupting the completed building interior.

Results

The building owners were able to replace and maintain lighting in a difficult-to-reach area without the cost, time, and disruption of reinstalling scaffolding. Rope Guy provided a practical access solution for an architectural feature that was otherwise extremely difficult to reach after the renovation was complete.
