Due to the sloped floor and the pews lifts were not an option.  Using scaffolding would have required unbolting and moving the pews.  This would have required many days to reach all the lights.  We were able to access some of the lights by rappelling from the cat-walk and swinging underneath for direct access.  For the can lights recessed along a wood beam we installed rock climbing bolt hangers using 3/8in lag bolts painted to match the beam.  This gave us “easy” access to the lights.  One of the light fixtures needed to be removed and repaired.  We built an adjustable hanging foot platform that allowed us to gain access to the fixture.
